Our Annual Melbourne Cup Luncheon returns to The Banquet Centre, upstairs at Townsville Brewery!
Anticipate an afternoon of decadent selections in Townsville’s most luxurious space.
Enjoy welcome canapes and sparkling wine in the Lobby Bar, live music from Luke Hietamaki to kick the party off in the Main Hall, followed by a three-course alternate drop luncheon and our Premium 3-hour Beer, Wine and Spirits drink package (11am – 2pm).

Known by the locals as The Brewery
Opened In 2001, by the Ramm family and redeveloped into a craft brewery complete with a brewpub, restaurant and event hire space.
The original building was opened on the 2nd of December 1889, the Townsville General Post Office was one of the grandest examples of Victorian architecture of its time. It served as the principal avenue of communication well into the 20th century.
In 2020, the Townsville Brewery was bought by the Bredhauer family. It remains a proudly independent, family-owned brewery, and its legacy of providing locals with its unique and original craft beer continues.

The iconic clock tower, that features in our logo, was imported from England in 1891. Its melodic chimes were a part of daily life in Townsville until WWll. There was some concern that the clock tower would be a target for bombing. This led to its dismantling in 1942. The new clock tower, as you see it today, was rebuilt in 1963, when the building underwent interior modernisation and continued to serve as the Townsville General Post Office.
